We had an amazing stay at Shanta Ghar, it really is a peaceful home. Hari and his wife Deepa are great hosts, very attentive and welcoming and the Nepali food was delicious. The guesthouse is beautiful, we enjoyed just relaxing on the balcony reading, as well as walks in the area including to a waterfall. We took the local bus to the house and the journey is through very scenic landscape, we saw a rhino on the way! Would highly recommend a stay here if you want to get off the beaten track and stay in a stunning, unique location.

Shanta Ghar is a true rustic accomodation you can find near Chitwan.
Absolutely amazing place. You wake up in the morning with the chirping of the birds (peacock, cuckoo and many many more you can catch glimpse of) Then Hari will treat you with tea freshly brewed and mixed with milk which his wife has milked from the buffaloes. It is very fresh. After that, if you wish, to go for river swim. Hari along with his children (if they are home from School) will accompany you. You can come back for fresh breakfast, made with ingredients produced locally and occassionally topped with ghee (butter) from the buffalo milk....
We started our Nepal trip from Shanta Ghar and throughly enjoyed our one night stay. Would love to stay for a week in future.
The guest house is made with wood (100%) and powered by solar energy. Toilets are not attached but clean and hygienic. Hot water comes in only one bathroom. A small bridge connects the bedrooms with the toilet. The place itself is calm, serene, rusty yet safe, clean and above all the hospitality of the host is simply out of this world.
